We at Taaleri Bioindustry systematically invest in the development and production of resource-efficient and sustainable materials on an industrial scale.

Taaleri Bioindustry develops and invests in industrial scale plants that enable the growth of bioeconomy sector globally. Our first fund, Taaleri Bioindustry I, invests in disruptive technologies within the bioindustry field in Finland and Europe. We are preparing an early-stage venture capital fund, which would invest in new technologies in the bioindustry segment.

Bioindustry I

Taaleri Bioindustry I is a closed-end private equity fund. The fund will invest in disruptive technologies and industrial scale bioeconomy plants in Finland and in Europe. The fund is open to new investors and is actively looking for new investment targets.

Fintoil Hamina Oy

Fintoil Hamina Oy is a Finnish enterprise that has built a crude tall oil refinery in Hamina. The refinery started its operation in the fall 2022. More than 60% of the biorefinery’s output will be directed as feedstock to biodiesel production.

Joensuu Biocoal Oy

Joensuu Biocoal Oy is a Finnish enterprise that builds a brownfield factory producing torrefied biomass to Joensuu. In the beginning, the objective is to replace the use of coal in energy production and focus later on to the so called value add products.

Taaleri Bioindustry is a Finnish-based bioindustry developer and fund manager. We have accumulated strong experience with investments in the bioindustry over several years. Taaleri Bioindustry has a technically oriented and skilled investment team.

The definition of bioindustry for Taaleri

Bioindustry refers to industrial scale production utilizing biobased materials or circular economy materials. Sustainable products replace products made from fossil or virgin raw materials. Taaleri invests in industrial-scale opportunities within bioindustry.

For example, Taaleri Bioindustry I Fund has invested in Colombier, which produces 100% compostable, recyclable and plastic-free paper and board packaging. The fund has also invested in Nordic Bioproducts Group, a Finnish company producing cellulose-based materials from industrial and agricultural side and waste streams.
